Carmela's E-Newsletter: Summer 2016
August 30, 2016
Hello Everyone, As summer comes to a close, I have some exciting news to share: my middle-grade novel Rosa, Sola is finally available again, and it’s better than ever! The new edition includes a "Discussion Questions" section for classroom use. And I LOVE the new cover, designed by Steven Novak. If you haven't seen it yet, I encourage you to visit the Rosa, Sola page of my website. The book is available in both paperback and ebook format from most online booksellers. For links to specific pages, see the caption under the cover image. If you or someone you know is interested in ordering more than 10 copies at a time for classroom or other group use, please let me know and I’ll see if I can arrange a discount. In other good news, Rosa, Sola recently received the Catholic Writers Guild Seal of Approval, which affirms that a book is well-written and consistent with Catholic values. You can find the complete listing of the 2015 winners here. To celebrate all this good news, I’ll be offering a Goodreads giveaway of three copies of Rosa, Sola starting next week. I’ll send a brief reminder about that later. Meanwhile, I’ve set up a Facebook author page to help promote the book. I invite you to stop by to “like” the page here. If you’re looking for another great middle-grade novel with Catholic themes, my latest post at our TeachingAuthors blog features an interview with award-winning author Amy Cattapan, and we’re giving away a copy of Amy’s brand new novel, Seven Riddles to Nowhere (Vinspire publishing). But you have to hurry over to enter. The giveaway ends tomorrow (Wednesday). See this page to enter for a chance to win! For those of you interested in my writing classes, I have only one adult class scheduled at College of DuPage this fall: Six-Week Writing Workshop: Finding Your Writer's Voice Class meets Tuesdays, 7-9 p.m., Sept. 13–Oct. 25, 2016.
