In this issue: - Follow-up to COD Class: Private Writing Classes for Adults - HCA Summer Writing Camps for Girls Will Be Here Soon! - Connect with me on Facebook Private Writing Classes for Adults Several students in my recent "Goodnight Moon to Harry Potter" class at the College of DuPage have expressed interest in additional classes related to writing for children/teens. I've been unable to offer these at either COD or Mayslake due to insufficient enrollment. However, I am willing to offer private classes for 4-6 students. I'm considering offering two such classes this fall: 1) Introduction to Writing for Children and Teens: this class would present basic craft techniques related to such topics as characterization, plotting, point of view, and setting. 2) Facilitated Critique Workshop: this workshop would require students to bring a picture book or chapter from a longer work that would be critiqued by me and fellow students. These classes would meet in the evening at a Panera, library meeting room, or in a student's home somewhere in the Wheaton/Naperville/Downers Grove area. I have yet to work out all the details. If you or someone you know may be interested, please email me or contact me via my website: http://www.carmelamartino.com/contact.htm HCA Summer Writing Camps for Girls Will Be Here Soon!
