For details, see: http://www.carmelamartino.com/events.htm NEW HCA Class for Kids: Introduction to DoodleWriting I'll be offering a new, one-day workshop at the Hinsdale Center for the Arts on Saturday, October 1, 2011, 1:00-3:00 pm for ages 11-14. Here's the class description: "Do you doodle? You’re not alone! Many of our presidents, beginning with George Washington, have been doodlers. While this workshop may not turn you into the next president, it will introduce you to techniques for combining doodling with writing. For inspiration, we’ll look at examples from published children’s books, such as DIARY OF A WIMPY KID and DOODLEBUG. We’ll also practice using words and doodles together to create interesting, fun-to-read stories. Please bring your favorite notebook or sketchbook and a pen or pencil to class." Enrollment is limited, so register as soon as possible to ensure a spot in the class. For registration information, see http://www.carmelamartino.com/events.htm . Writing Classes for Homeschoolers Beginning in October, 2011, author Heidi Roemer and I will be offering writing/poetry classes on the third Friday of the month in the Brookfield-LaGrange Park area.
