In this issue: - Adult "Craft & Critique" Workshop at Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook - COD Summer Class - HCA Summer Writing Camps for Girls - Forthcoming publication - Connect with me on Facebook "Craft & Critique" Workshop at the Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook The next session of my "Craft & Critique" workshop for adults who write for children/teens is scheduled to begin May 8. The class, which is seven weeks long, will be held Tuesdays, 7:00-9:30 p.m., May 8-June 26, 2012 (no class May 29). In this session, our focus will be on “voice”—what it is, how to develop it, and how to make it appropriate to your story, whether you’re writing for toddlers or teens. Enrollment is limited to 10 students, so register as soon as possible to ensure a spot in the class. For details, see: http://www.carmelamartino.com/events.htm COD Summer Class I'll be offering the one-day adult workshop, Writing for Children and Young Adults: From Goodnight Moon to Harry Potter at the College of DuPage on Saturday, June 16, 9:00 am--3:00 pm. This class is a one-day introduction to the children’s writing field—from picture books and magazines to teen novels. HCA Summer Writing Camps for Girls The Hinsdale Center for the Arts is again hosting my summer writing camps for girls. Girls Write!, for girls entering grades 4-6, will be held July 9 – July 13, 2012, at 1:00 - 3:30 pm. Girls Write ON!, for girls entering grades 6-8, will be held July 30-August 3, 2012, at 9:30 am – noon.
